The company prepared a program for the content and uses of the building for the association. The program was based on connecting to Israeli and Diaspora communities within the framework of an envelope concept and to the field of genealogy.
The Schneller Compound in Jerusalem was built in the mid-19th century by Ludwig Schneller as a Syrian orphanage. The compound comprised a series of impressive buildings surrounding a monumental central structure. The site, now in the heart of an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood, was in continuous use for a variety of purposes until the beginning of the 21st century. In 2016, the main building was transferred to the management of the Kehillot Yisrael association for the establishment of a publicly accessible content center that will appeal to both local and foreign tourism. The company prepared a strategic plan for the building’s content and uses. The program, based on connection to the global Jewish community, uses an envelope concept for the field of Jewish heritage and culture.
