Station Complex, Jerusalem
Scope of Work
  • Strategy
The company worked closely with the Jerusalem Development Authority to formulate the concept and reuse of the complex and in its marketing and branding.
On September 26, 1892, the first train left the Jaffa station on the first railway line in the Land of Israel bound for the Jerusalem station, arriving there to great fanfare and ceremony. The station operated until 1998, when the section of track leading to Jerusalem was closed and the complex abandoned. In 2013, the site reopened as an entertainment and commercial complex, soon becoming one of the most active hubs in the city. The renovated historic station aims to combine culture, leisure, and lifestyle and to turn the complex into a central attraction in Jerusalem. The station buildings, among the only public buildings built in Jerusalem during the Ottoman period, and the accompanying facilities, have undergone careful restoration, with great attention to the unique materials and forms. The company worked with the Jerusalem Development Authority in formulating the concept and reuse of the complex and in the marketing and branding. The company also oversaw preparation of the mix of uses as well as the entrepreneurial tender for the preservation of the station and development of the area for the Jerusalem Development Authority.
